Ribbed Ring Build

Here I am in the process of fabricating a bezel for the pearl ring.
Fabrication is a construction technique in which pieces of metal, in this case, 14 karat yellow gold are hammered, bent, welded and finished into the desired shape and form needed to build the jewelry piece.
I am using the fabricated bezels in combination with carving and casting the ring, and finally various surface treatments to achieve this very natural and organic feel.

Birthday Surprise

This is a recent commission for a birthday surprise. The subtle beauty underlying the obvious is the pendulum movement. Difficult to build, but so worth the result!

Annette Schweiss pieceDear Kim & Mary,

I just wanted to write and let you know how much I am enjoying my Peridot ring. I have only had it for two weeks, and every time I wear it I receive one or more compliments.

I purchased it from you at the Clayton Art Show. It was late Saturday evening and I looked at it and tried it on several times. Finally, my husband, Vince, and good friends talked me into it, convincing me that “you only live once”! I thought for certain that the next morning I would have buyers remorse, but I didn’t. It’s truly a joy to wear and it will forever be a symbol that “Live is not a rehearsal.”

Normally when Vince and I buy jewelry, I like to pick out the stone first. When we went to buy a ruby ring, I must have looked at 3 or 4 separate shipments of loose stones before I found the color and quality that I liked. It was a four month process! In other words, I do not normally buy an investment so quickly… The fact that you knew where the stone was from, your trusting answers about the stones quality and the passion & pride for your work were definitely the reasons for my purchase.

I look forward to your mailings and seeing you again next year at the Clayton Art Show.

I’ll need a pair of earrings or a pendant to match my ring! :-)

Sincerely,

Annette Schweiss

Eric Brimer's pieceDear Kim,

Carol and I picked up the ring today from the Post Office. It looks great and fits well.

This is a special piece for Carol and me. We just celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary and your ring is my way to capture her wonderful support and feelings.

Thank you for your prompt service, the necessary paperwork (insurance appraisal), and of course our pleasant experience meeting you and Mary at the Clayton Art Show.

Best wishes and future successes!

Greg L. Ferguson

Greg Ferguson pieceDear Kim,

I received the appraisal for my Mali Grandite garnet ring in today’s mail. Thanks so much for your quick turn-around, as I know you are on the road and quite busy.

I want to thank you again for making my purchase experience so pleasant and comfortable. I seldom purchase big-ticket items for myself, such as this ring, but as I said, “the ring really did interest me and once I saw it, I just had to have it”!

I was looking for a pinkie ring for quite some time, never finding exactly what I wanted, or anything I thought I would be happy with long term. Well, this did it! I didn’t even have “buyer’s remorse” the next day, which so often ruins a purchase experience.

I’ve received several comments on the ring already: some notice the entire ring, others picked out the stone and its uniqueness.

Anyway, not to keep you, but thanks again. I hope to run into you again somewhere, sometime in the future.

Keep up the good work!

Regards,

Greg L. Ferguson
